Celtic have reportedly made their interest in striker Sydney van Hooijdonk known to Bologna ahead of a potential January switch.
The son of former Hoops' hero Pierre was touted with a move to the Scottish Premiership champions last summer but Thiago Motta closed the exit door for the 23-year-old as he was offered a chance to impress his boss in Serie A following a successful loan spell at Heerenveen.
The Dutchman netted 16 goals in 32 games for the Eredivise side last term but has failed to make his mark this term. Van Hooijdonk has managed just 41 minutes of league action this term - but scored on his only start of the campaign in the Coppa Italia victory over Verona.
Corriere di Bologna report that Motta is now ready to move the forward in the winter window on loan to "make room" for recruits and are welcoming potential approaches.
