Rangers will compete for the Veolia Trophy after Lyon confirmed the dates and fixtures of their pre-season tournament.The competition will take place on July 16 and July 18 with the Glasgow rivals taking on Nice and Lyon in the two games.It means that there won’t be a pre-season Old Firm clash but they will both be in with a chance of lifting the trophy.
The games will be held at the Groupama Stadium and kicks off with Nice vs Celtic on Thursday July 16.That is followed by Lyon vs Rangers, the first time the sides have met since the Champions League group stage in 2007/08.It's a different stadium to where Rangers played in 2007 when they thumped the then-French champions 3-0 at the Stade Gerland, before being beat by the same score at.
