The Celtic AGM is upon us again and despite yet more success being delivered on and off the park, the board is still expected to face scrutiny from the floor.Last season saw Celtic claim yet another Treble, qualify automatically for the Champions League, appoint a top manager in Brendan Rodgers and make many more millions.But yet still the natives are restless.
Controversy has engulfed Celtic Park this season due to the battle between the club hierarchy and the Green Brigade. The notorious ultras have had their season tickets suspended amid accusations and counter accusations.
Talks were planned so we are likely to receive an update from the AGM over how they are progressing and an idea if a peace deal can be struck.But that is not the only point of order expected from today’s meeting.
The club’s accounts recently showed they have more than £70million in the bank, an extraordinary set of financials. These were made to look even better when Rangers’ accounts were revealed last week and showed the champions’ rivals had posted a loss of £4.1m.
