Celebs Keep Falling for Scam Message on Meta, Telling Users to 'Repub' an Attorney Statement
justjared.comDozens of celebrities have fallen for a scam on Instagram in which hundreds of thousands of people have already reposted an “attorney” statement.
The statement is trying to make people believe that Instagram and Facebook’s parent company Meta will have permission to use “your information and photos” unless you reshare the message. The statement reads, “Goodbye Meta AI. Please note an attorney has advised us to put this on, failure to do so may result in legal consequences.
As Meta is now a public entity all members must post a similar statement. If you do not post at least once it will be assumed you are okay with them using your information and photos.
