A former Paisley theatre boss who admitted embezzling money from a kids’ drama group will be sentenced next month. Deceitful David McCann, better known under his stage name David Wallace, admitted he embezzled £75,000 from PACE Theatre Company.McCann, of Lomond Drive in Glasgow, stole the cash between December 1, 2013 and July 25, 2017, while employed as the director and chief executive of the Paisley company that launched the careers of James McAvoy, Paolo Nutini and Richard Madden.
Prior to his trial starting last month at Paisley Sheriff Court, the disgraced panto dame admitted to transferring the money from PACE’s bank account to his personal bank account and to using the company credit card for personal use.
