Cambuslang Rangers can use points deduction fury to fire survival bid, says co-boss

Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Billy Campbell says they should use the feeling of injustice over their points deduction to fire them to survival in the West of Scotland Premier Division.The Somervell Park side are still reeling from the news last week that they have been deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player during their opening game of the season against Beith.Kyle Maxwell, who was suspended, played in the game and an appeal from Camby, claiming information on the player’s suspension was not available, was thrown out by the Scottish Football Association.It has left Camby five points off of safety in the their first season back in the top flight heading into the Christmas break, but Campbell says he will try and use the decision to fire up his stars.He said: “Those three points we had taken off us was extremely disappointing for us because it is hard enough in this league.“That’s the rules but it doesn’t mean I agree with it.“It puts us in a tougher position.

Those three points might be crucial in what happens this season because we know how hard it is to get three points in this league.“It’s not insurmountable to get out of our position so we will keep working hard to notch the points up.“But you’ve got to try and use any lever you can to get the boys going and keep them moving forward.“Everyone else is trying to earn points to keep themselves in the division so we can use what has happened to us to say: right, let’s get one with it and show we can get out of this.”Camby’s weekend clash away to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy fell victim to the freezing weather conditions and their next outing now comes on Hogmanay away to Beith.Campbell added: “It’s Hogmanay before we have a game again so we need to stay on it
