In the latest season of Call the Midwife, Trixie has taken on a significant new role, which has allowed her to "come into her own", according to actress Helen George.When Sister Julienne revealed that the health board had "declared war on Nonnatus House", she turned to Trixie for help in saving their institution from closure, a challenge Trixie accepted without hesitation.It seems this was a role Trixie was destined for, as after a meeting with the authorities, she returned with the news that they would live to fight another day.When speaking to the Radio Times, Helen expressed her enjoyment at exploring this new aspect of her character, a role she's portrayed since 2012."It's like she's sort of come into her own and she's realised her worth," the actress shared. "And she's fighting hard and she's sort of embodying her masculine.

And that goes with her fashion as well, which I'm really enjoying."She added: "The power suits, there was something about embodying the masculine.

The way that she goes into meetings, and the way that she has to stand up against these really powerful men, we wanted to mirror that in the fashion as well.
