Tom Tapp Deputy Managing EditorCalifornia has broken a single-day record for new coronavirus infections with 6,367 reported Wendesday.

At his noon press conference, Governor Gavin Newsom made good on his promise to “toggle back” reopenings in the state by ordering restaurants to shut down dine-in service once again.

This applies to all counties on the “county monitoring list” for at least three consecutive days. The guideline to close indoor operations includes movie theaters, restaurants, card rooms, zoos.There are 19 counties on the monitoring list.

Los Angeles in one of them.The duration of the restriction is three weeks. Over the weekend, the governor closed bars and nightclubs.On Friday, Newsom had Imperial County roll back its lifting.
