Caitlyn Marie Jenner (born William Bruce Jenner; October 28, 1949) is an American television personality and retired Olympic gold medal–winning decathlete.
Jenner played college football for the Graceland Yellowjackets before incurring a knee injury that required surgery. Convinced by Olympic decathlete Jack Parker's coach, L. D. Weldon, to try the decathlon, Jenner won the men's decathlon event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, setting a third successive world record and gaining fame as "an all-American hero".
Given the unofficial title of "world's greatest athlete", Jenner established a career in television, film, writing, auto racing, business, and as a Playgirl cover model.
Caitlyn Jenner has come under fire after she voiced support for Texas’ controversial abortion law, but also saying she is for a woman’s right to choose. The Olympic champion is currently campaigning to become Governor of California, and addressed the state of Texas’ decision to make it illegal for women to terminate pregnancies past six weeks.
Speaking to CNN’s Brianna Keiler, the 71-year-old explained: ‘I am for a woman’s right to choose. I am also for a state having the ability to make their own laws. ‘So I support Texas in that decision, that’s their decision.
But as far as being a woman’s right to choose, I don’t see any changes in our laws in California in the future.’ Keiler then pressed Jenner on how it was possible for her to take.
