Busy start to new year for mountain rescue team after double rescue in 24 hours
dailyrecord.co.ukIt was a busy start to the new year for one mountain rescue team who were called out to rescue stranded walkers twice in 24 hours.Ochils Mountain Rescue Team (Ochils MRT), based at Fishcross, were first called out on Tuesday evening by Forth Valley Police Division to assist a hill walker who had become disoriented in the Andrew Gannel area, near Tillicoultry.Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area.The walker was quickly located by team members and walked off the hill.On Wednesday afternoon, the volunteer team was once again called into action to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service with a casualty who had taken a fall in the Sheriffmuir area, near Dunblane.A spokesperson for Ochils MRT said: “Team members supported the ambulance crew and the crew of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance – SCAA Helimed 76 – who flew the casualty to the roadside for onward transportation to hospital by ambulance.“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.”
