Businesswoman claims she was attacked by partner and left covered in bruises after drunken night out

A recruitment boss told how her partner assaulted her after a Christmas night out. Alison Blake said she was left with bruises after being “pushed and pulled” from her Edinburgh home by furious Adrian Cahill.The 42-year-old said Cahill arrived back at 3am and found her naked in a bedroom with a colleague following a the bash.

She also told how he found cocaine on their coffee table and conceded she’d been “caught on the hop” with a junior member of staff.Alison said Cahill, 51, threw her clothes and phone out the window while ejecting her from the £500,000 house into the snow.She admitted being undressed in the bedroom and engaging in “heavy petting” and a “prelude to sex” with the young man, but added: “That was as far as it got.”Alison admitted texting Cahill to say her work night-outs “normally” resulted in “drug-fuelled after parties”, but denied taking cocaine that evening.The recruitment director was giving evidence at Edinburgh Sheriff Court where Cahill is on trial accused of assaulting her.Under questioning from fiscal depute Klaudia Wasilewska, Alison said she was at a festive work party at the Corn Exchange - now called the O2 Academy Edinburgh - where there was a DJ and dancing.The court heard on Tuesday how she returned to her three-storey house in the Murrayfield area with two male colleagues at around 1am.Alison said one colleague left and she ended up in a bedroom with the other worker before Cahill arrived back.She said: “He started yelling, ‘Get out of my house’ to my colleague initially.

The two of them went downstairs. I locked myself in the bathroom.”Cahill returned five minutes later, she said, adding: “He was extremely angry.
