Bus services across Greater Manchester will be reduced from Monday. The changes, described by Stagecoach as a ‘special Monday to Friday service’, follow new government advice around social contact and non-essential travel to help combat the coronavirus.
Bus operators including Stagecoach, First and Arriva, will operate a reduced timetable ‘until further notice’, with schedules ‘carefully created’ to ensure that critical routes are maintained ‘wherever possible’.
Operators say they will continue to run school services for as long as they remain open. The Manchester Evening News asked One Bus, which represents all the bus firms in Greater Manchester, as well as individual operators, what proportion of buses would be cut from the timetable.
