The Duke of Edinburgh has been appointed to the Order of the Thistle by the King as four new photos of him have been shared to celebrate his 60th birthday.
The Order of the Thistle is Scotland's highest honour, and the King can give it to anyone he chooses without needing advice from the Prime Minister.
Professor Dame Sue Black, Baroness Helena Kennedy, and Sir Geoff Palmer are also new members of the order. These appointments will start on Sunday, and a special ceremony will be held in the summer.
The Order of the Thistle includes 16 knights and ladies, as well as the Queen, the Princess Royal, and the Duke of Rothesay.
