K-pop superstars BTS have announced a new single to mark their 10th anniversary as a chart-conquering band. Titled Take Two, the song will drop on June 9, a few days ahead of the 10-year milestone.
The group's debut single 2 Cool 4 Skool was released on June 12, 2013. The single comes as a very welcome surprise to fans, since BTS announced a hiatus in June 2022, taking the first extended break of their incredibly successful career.
Two group members, Jin and J-Hope, are currently undertaking mandatory military service at home in South Korea. In a statement, the band's management company Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that all seven band members – Jin and J-Hope, plus Jimin, Jungkook, RM, SUGA and V – have contributed to the writing and production of Take Two.
Rather sweetly, the anniversary single is being billed as a "gift" to the group's famously loyal fanbase, ARMY. Big Hit Entertainment said in a statement: "We sincerely express our gratitude to ARMY for making the 10th anniversary possible with your endless love for BTS, and we hope that Take Two will become a precious 'Gift' from BTS to you all.
