Van de Beek, 24, joined Manchester United a year ago but struggled to adapt to English football in his tricky debut campaign at the club.
Despite early signs of promise, the Dutch midfielder failed to ever secure a regular first-team role and was not helped by the sporadic appearances handed to him by Solskjaer.
Ahead of the new campaign Van de Beek has been hitting the gym to add more physicality to his game and his efforts certainly haven't gone unnoticed.
