A care worker has emerged from an induced coma ten days after being badly injured in a horrific incident in Salford. Preeti Dhunna was hit by a car as she crossed a road to catch a bus.
Preeti, who looks after residents with dementia in a care home, suffered a brain injury in the crash on Cromwell Road on Saturday, December 23.
The 30-year-old, who also broke her ankle and pelvis, has been treated in the intensive care unit at Salford Royal Hospital since.
Her family are still desperately trying to cut through protocol so her parents can get visas and fly from India to be at her bedside.
