Six of Broadway’s biggest stars came together to pay tribute to the late great Stephen Sondheim during a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl! Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Patti LuPone, Skylar Astin, Sierra Boggess, and Norm Lewis performed the composer’s greatest hits and some deep cuts during Everybody Rise!
A Sondheim Celebration on Sunday night (July 30) in Los Angeles. The show was packed with 24 of Sondheim‘s best songs, including a song that was even cut from one of his musicals.
The concert program was curated by Robert Longbottom and Kevin Stites and conducted by Stites.
The shows represented during the concert included Into the Woods, Company, Sunday in the Park With George, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Follies, Merrily We Roll Along, Anyone Can Whistle, Saturday Night, and Assassins. Patti stole the show with her renditions of “Being Alive” and “The Ladies Who Lunch,” both from the show Company.
