Rain and wet weather are set to be blown away in time for the sun to return for the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of the month.
A weather warning for high winds has been issued for tomorrow and Friday for a vast swathe of the south, with the rain set to continue for the coming days.
But most of the UK will become more settled and even have times of sun as the UK enjoys the Spring Bank Holiday on Monday, May 31.
For most of the UK the date also marks the start of the school half term. In Manchester the mercury is expected to 18°C on the bank holiday, with Blackpool at 17°C and Newcastle managing 15°C.
