A dog named Peggy, once dubbed 'Britain's ugliest' pooch, is now basking in the limelight after landing a role in Hollywood.The distinctive-looking pooch was selected by Ryan Reynolds for his third Deadpool film, 'Deadpool and Wolverine', to play his canine companion, Dogpool.

Several photos of Peggy with her long tongue sticking out from the corner of her mouth, just as it did on set, were posted on Reddit, leading to a flurry of congratulations from proud Brits on her starring role.According to a post on the CasualUK subreddit, WeRateDogs revealed Peggy was adopted by the Middleton family five years ago and was the "runt of her litter and the last to be chosen due to her looks".

The dog foundation said Peggy was "a pug mixed with Chinese Crested. Despite having no previous acting experience, she proved to be a natural on set."Numerous Reddit users praised her performance in the comments section. "Congratulations to Peggy for being the lead star in the film with the most successful opening weekend of the year," one user enthused.

Over a week since its release, the film continues to top the US box office with $97M, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film ever. "The real star of the movie," another person complimented, before a third chimed in: "Just watched Deadpool and Wolverine and she is an absolute star!
