Sahil Saeed was only five when he was kidnapped in a harrowing ordeal that was on the front pages ten years ago. The lad from Oldham, Greater Manchester, was snatched from his grandma’s house in Pakistan while visiting with his father.
An international police operation kicked off and a six-figure ransom was handed to the gang before Sahil was set free after two weeks – left alone on a roadside in the middle of nowhere.
Now 15, he has spoken of his ordeal for the first time. Sahil told the Sunday People how he is still haunted after his captors kept him in a dingy compound, fed him only bowls of rice – and even threatened to fit him with an explosives jacket and “blow him to pieces”.
