A Christmas Eve meeting of negotiators is being pencilled in as officials plough their way through a 2,000 pages of legal text that have already been agreed.But Downing Street gave contrary accounts, with some officials saying the deal was done and others dismissing the prospect while talks continued in Brussels in the last lap of bargaining.The breakthrough follows 72 hours of secret talks between Boris Johnson and EU Commission President Ursula Von der Layen.
Another call between the two leaders was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to iron out a last-minute compromise on the controversial issue of fishing quotas.
