Brendan Rodgers is reportedly one of four names on the English FA's shortlist as their next manager - but finances could scupper their chances of landing the former Celtic boss.

The Northern Irishman has recovered from a calamitous start to the season at Leicester City - who he left Parkhead for in controversial circumstances in 2019 - to replenish his high stock.

According to The Telegraph, he plus Maurico Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and Steve Holland 'would all be on the list of possible candidates' should Gareth Southgate decide to walk away from the England job after their World Cup quarter-final defeat to France on Saturday.

Pochettino was last with Paris Saint-Germain and Tuchel was at Chelsea at the start of this campaign, while Holland is currently number two in the England set-up.
