Brendan Rodgers suffered last day heartbreak as they agonisingly missed out on the Champions League. The Foxes have already secured silverware this season with the FA Cup and were looking to complete their campaign with a top four finish.
Rodgers' men had spent 242 days in the Champions League places but were relying on results elsewhere on the final day. Leicester needed one of Chelsea or Liverpool to slip up, or if both teams won to beat Tottenham by at least five goals more than Jurgen Klopp's side beat Crystal Palace.
Things went for them at Villa Park as Chelsea fell to a 2-1 defeat. But Rodgers' side were beaten 4-2 on their own patch to finish in fifth place.It meant that Liverpool and Andy Robertson took a place in the Champions.
