Dancing on Ice contestant Brendan Cole has shut down criticisms regarding his dance background and says it has only helped to improve the routines he is able to do on the ice.
The former Strictly Come Daning professional previously received complaints from fans who claimed it was unfair that trained dancers were allowed on the show.
As well as Brendan, Dancing on Ice finalists Kimberly Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne also come with dance expertise under their belts - with Regan's occupation being a dancer and Kimberly hailing from girl band The Pussycat Dolls.When asked by Daily Star at a round table event what he would say about the criticisms received, Brendan said: "Nothing."The star who is partnered with professional skater Vanessa Bauer continued: "I think the fact we got dance backgrounds has only improved things on the ice."The stuff that we've been able to do because of what are background is and the fact that we pushed each other because we are all in that element has been actually special."I've loved the push, I've loved the challenge and creating new stuff that I probably wouldn't have done if they hadn't been there."He added: "People are always going to complain, that's the nature of humans as we exist."Kimberly who was also in attendance at the round table talks chimed: "We'll never change their minds!"Fans have previously taken to social media to voice their concerns regarding the celebrities' professions on the show and have urged ITV bosses to not include professional dancers in the compeition as it could possibly give them a slight advantage.Jumping onto Twitter, one viewer complained: "They shouldn't have dancers on there against people who can't/don't dance.
