Film Independent has established interim leadership changes as it begins a search for a new executive to lead the organization.
Brenda Robinson has been named acting president of Film Independent, while board vice chair Eric d’Arbeloff will fill her role as acting board chair.
The changes were voted on at a board meeting on Wednesday, and are effective immediately. “Hopefully this will provide us with some sense of stable direction as we continue mapping out the future,” Robinson tells Variety. “Eric and I have a wonderful working partnership as it is, and so it felt very natural for us to move into the roles together.
We had overwhelming support from the board on that.” Robinson, a “recovering entertainment attorney,” as she puts it, first became involved with the organization 12 years ago, starting out as a member in the Arts Circle community.
