A woman is dead and two others are seriously injured after a car ploughed into pedestrians outside a pub. The horrific incident happened at around 12.15pm on Haddon Hall Road in Droylsden.
Police say a driver aged in his 70s is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and collided with three women. One died at the scene and two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and assisted police. No arrests have been made. Pictures from the scene show a police cordon in place outside the Haddon Hall pub.
A white forensic tent has been erected in the car park. A number of roads remain closed with a large amount of emergency services at the scene.
