A man was rushed to hospital while another was arrested after a serious crash in Oldham. The smash happened at the junction of Peel Street and Stockfield Road in Chadderton at around 6.35pm yesterday (Wednesday).
Police said it involved two cars. A passenger in one of the cars - a man - was taken to hospital by paramedics. He has since had surgery and is now in a stable condition, police said. He remains in custody today to be quizzed by detectives. The road was reportedly closed off for hours after the crash, with the cars remaining on the scene until around 5am this morning.
A cordon was put in place at the busy junction as investigations were carried out. One onlooker this morning described the road as being 'like a racecourse'.
