A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at a house in Salford. The victim, aged 40, was found at a property on Agecroft Road in the Pendlebury area at around 9.10pm last night (Tuesday).
Police were initially called to reports of an assault but emergency services tragically pronounced the man dead at the scene.

They remain in custody to be quizzed by detectives. A large police cordon remains in place on Agecroft Road this morning. Officers have been pictured going in and out of a house.
