A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was found in a house, police have confirmed today (February 18).
The woman was 26, but she hasn't been named following the discovery at 1.10pm on Wednesday. Greater Manchester Police said officers attended a property on Sparkford Avenue in the Brooklands area of Wythenshawe. Emergency services raced to the scene but sadly, the woman was pronounced dead. GMP said in a statement a man aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder and questioned.
He's since been released on bail as the investigation continues, the force said. A neighbour said the woman's death has sent shockwaves through the area.
