BREAKING: Man stabbed in street brawl after car windows smashed

A man was stabbed after a fight broke out on a street in Trafford. Police said the brawl broke out between two men on Barton Road in Urmston at around 5.25pm yesterday (Sunday).

The 'altercation' unfolded after two windows of a vehicle were smashed. One of the men was stabbed. He was rushed to hospital from the scene. Another man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in police custody to be questioned by detectives. Yesterday, pictures showed a police cordon in place around a row of shops on the nearby Davyhulme Circle.

At least three police vehicles were stationed on the scene. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 5.25pm on Sunday 13 August 2023, officers were called to reports that a man had smashed two windows of a vehicle that was situated on Barton Road, Davyhulme. "It was later established that an altercation between two men occurred as a result of the damage to the vehicle, with one of the men receiving injuries as a result of a stabbing.
