A 70-year-old man has died after a crash on the M56. The crash happened on the motorway near Helsby in Cheshire just after 12.10pm yesterday (Sunday).
Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving multiple 999 calls about a vehicle that had 'left the carriageway'. Cheshire Police said a black Toyota Yaris came off the motorway and crashed down an embankment.

His next of kin have been informed. Detectives are now appealing for any witnesses of the crash - which happened on the eastbound carriageway near to junction 14 - to come forward.
