A man has died after being hit by a bus on a main road in Longsight. The man, who was aged in his 50s, was knocked down on Stockport Road at around 4.50pm last Thursday (October 12).
He was crossing the road at the time of the collision with the Stagecoach bus at the junction with Richmond Grove East, police said.
He suffered 'potentially life-changing injuries' and was in a critical condition. Tragically, the man died in hospital yesterday (October 17) - five days after the collision. He has since been released on bail, police confirmed. Following the incident, police closed off a stretch of the main road as investigations were carried out were Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) officers.
