Police and paramedics were called to the scene of the violent attack on a path near Kingsway Park, in Urmston, on Monday evening (June 19) following reports of a man with stab wounds.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital from the scene for surgery where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
