A man has died after a motorbike crashed into a fence post in Wigan. Emergency services, including police officers and paramedics, were called to the scene of the crash on a path off Hall Lane in the Aspull area at around 5pm on Saturday (January 20).

Police said two males - aged 27 and 16 - were believed to be riding the bike when it collided with the post. The 27-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by paramedics.

Officers at Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
