A police cordon remains in place today after a man was fired upon by a gang on motorbikes in Newton Heath. Police were called to a report of a shooting on Briscoe Lane North at around 7.50pm last night (Thursday).
Officers said they believe four unknown offenders on two motorbikes were involved. The gang approached the victim and shot him with what police believed to have been a BB gun or a similar weapon.
He was left with an injury on his finger. This morning, a police scene remains in place on nearby Millwright Street following the incident.
A section of the road has been taped off and at least police car is stationed at the scene. Forensic officers were pictured carrying out investigations at the scene last night.
