The police were called in to help hundreds of TUI passengers "abandoned" on the runway for three hours. Holidaymakers were left stuck on the tarmac before being escorted off the plane at Manchester Airport.

The TOM2106 to Tenerife on Sunday evening was hit by an initial delay, before hundreds of families were then stuck on board for more than three hours due to a staff shortage.
