Manchester City striker Erling Haaland faces a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury, the club have confirmed. The striker was forced off in the second half of the FA Cup win at Bournemouth, which City won 2-1.
Haaland had initially tried to play on before being replaced by Omar Marmoush, who scored what proved to be the winner within minutes of his arrival.
Haaland left the Vitality Stadium in a protective boot and on crutches as a precaution. He was assessed on Monday and the club have confirmed he has suffered an ankle injury which will rule him out for a period of time.
He won't feature against Leicester City on Wednesday and will surely now miss the Manchester derby this weekend. City expect him to be fit before the end of the campaign, but a timescale remains unknown until the frontman undergoes further tests.
