A teenager was taken to hospital after being hit by an ambulance in Stockport. The incident happened at the junction of Wellington Road South and Greek Street at around 7.20pm last night (Monday).

The 17-year-old boy was walking when he was hit by the ambulance, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital 'as a precaution'. An investigation into the incident is now underway. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit were called to the scene. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a cordon in place on Greek Street near the junction with the main road, which was reportedly in place for a number of hours.
