A teenage boy has been arrested after groups of youths caused chaos in a town centre. Police were called to Farnworth on Wednesday evening (January 22) following reports of large groups of children gathering and engaging in anti-social behaviour.
A dispersal order had already been issued across the town, following increased reports of anti-social gatherings and youths on off-road bikes in recent days.
The order gave police powers to prevent the gatherings for the safety of visitors and residents within a designated area until around 10pm.
In an update, police said a 14-year-old boy was arrested for public order offences after trouble returned for the third night in a row.
