Boy, 12, hit by car 'critically ill' after being flown to hospital in air ambulance

A 12-year-old boy has been left in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Manchester today. The incident occurred in Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton, just after 3.45pm, with the child rushed to hospital.

An air ambulance has been called and Barlow Moor Road has been closed off in both directions between Mauldeth Road West and High Lane.

Bus diversions are in place due to the incident with heavy delays in the area, reports the Manchester Evening News. In a tweet, TfGM said: "Barlow Moor Rd - Chorlton is CLOSED in both directions between Mauldeth Rd W and High Ln. Did you witness this incident?
