boozed-up arsonist can't remember torching the home of a fellow-partygoer. Stuart West was asked to leave the Melrose Street property in Hartlepool after becoming "very drunk and falling over", Teesside Live reports.
However, the 35-year-old left the terraced house with the owner's dog and several personal items before setting her next door neighbour's home on fire.
Prior to causing "extensive damage" to the property by setting fires in the living room and under the stairs, West had "taken a cocktail of alcohol and drugs".The attack took place at 5.30am on March 4, but West has "no memory" of it.
West appeared at Teesside Crown Court via video link from HMP Durham wearing a Jack and Jones t-shirt on Friday. He previously admitted arson.
