The genius behind the smash hits Rasputin and Daddy Cool has sadly passed away at 82 years old after a health struggle. German singer and music producer Frank Farian, responsible for some big tunes from 70s disco group Boney M, died peacefully in his home in Miami, Florida.
In recent years he had been facing mounting health problems. The band's founder bravely went through heart surgery last year where a pig heart valve was placed inside his chest as his original one had become smaller with age.
In what would be his last interview, he gratefully told Bild: "My heart valve works wonderfully. Mick Jagger also received exactly the same heart valve.
I have a good pig in me! And I'm very grateful for that." Despite surviving the operation, he started to lose his strength and dropped a lot of weight, ending up needing a wheelchair.
