Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic There’s still an empty slot on Kamala Harris‘ dance card for her rally Wednesday night in western Wisconsin — that would be her pick for running mate, which will be revealed Tuesday — but the band that they or their supporters will be dancing to has been revealed.
Bon Iver will be performing during the event. Of course, actual dancing is not guaranteed — this is Bon Iver, after all — but the crowd’s rapt attention for a set of hometown heroes probably is.
In a statement, the Harris campaign said: “Bon Iver is taking part because they know Vice President Harris’ values are Wisconsin values.
Lead singer Justin Vernon will be joined by bandmates Sean Carey and Michael Lewis to celebrate the state two of them call home and where Bon Iver was founded.” The campaign’s statement continued, “Bon Iver has constantly uplifted their hometown: they consistently debuted new music at the Eaux Claires Music Festival and have regularly invested in and uplifted the local economy.
