Emergency services, including a bomb squad, remain on the scene of a large-scale incident in Glasgow after residents were evacuated this morning.Police were called to Petershill Road in Springburn shortly after 10am on Monday after reports of a device within a property.
Bomb disposal experts, dressed in camouflage gear, can be seen on the street alongside uniformed police officers and members of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).A cordon has been established and residents were ordered to leave their homes following reports of a suspicious package in a flat in the street.
The eastern area of Petershill Road, and adjacent Red Road, have been closed to the public.Officers have arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with the incident.
In the meantime, emergency services remain on site. The MoD has been contacted for comment.Huge teams of firefighters, supporting explosive ordnance experts, are pictured on the scene, along with a Scottish Ambulance Service incident support vehicle.
