Body of man found in West Lothian house after neighbour 'hadn't seen him for months'

The body of a man was discovered at a West Lothian flat after a neighbour said they hadn't seen him for months.Officers were called to the property on Lanrigg Road in Fauldhouse, near Bathgate, on Sunday night.The body of a 57-year-old man was found inside.Police are investigating the death.A neighbour, who saw six forensic officers removing boxes from the flat said he hadn't seen his neighbour in months.The neighbour told the Record: "I hadn't seen him for six months and I've not seen the guy who lets the property for around three months."The police were there from 6pm and caused a traffic jam and they were there until around 5am the next morning."I've got an ex-partner and kids and I'm just sitting here thinking 'is that going to be me one day?'"Officers carried out door-to-door enquiries at the scene.Police Scotland confirmed that enquiries are continuing and that a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.30pm on Sunday, 12 June, police were called to an address in Lanrigg Road, Fauldhouse, Bathgate."A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
