A prison officer has been charged for the murder of a man who died on his 40th birthday. James Johnson, 28, is accused of killing David Toulson, 40, on Saturday evening (June 25).Authorities attended a block of flats in Adelphi Street, Salford shortly before 5.30pm.
They were initially dispatched after receiving reports of concern for the welfare of a man. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson has since been arrested and charged for the murder of David, who police say was celebrating his 40th birthday the day he was found.
The accused works as a prison guard at HMP Forest Bank in Salford, Manchester Evening News understands. He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court where he was remanded into custody.
