Body found near children's play area in Blackpool

A woman's body has reportedly been found near a children's play area in Blackpool. Emergency services descended on Gorton Street in the seaside town this morning (August 15).

Pictures from the scene showed both police and paramedics in attendance at the street, which has been cordoned off. Five police vehicles and two ambulances could been seen in the area at around 11am this morning (Thursday), Lancs Live report. Lancashire Constabulary have been contacted comment. The Blackpool Lead reports that the body was tragically discovered in the area, although it is currently unclear if the circumstances are thought to be suspicious or if any arrests have been made as a result.
