A body has been found in Spain for a missing Brit who vanished before Christmas. Dad-of-two John George, from Belfast, was last in contact with his family on December 14 and was due to fly home to Northern Ireland on December 18 but failed to board his flight.
His family have been in the Alicante region since last month assisting with the major search. Parents Billy and Sharon, brother Darren, and sisters Courtney and Caitlin - along with up to 50 friends and wider family from Northern Ireland - were involved in the wide-scale operation.
The family of the missing dad then received a call from the Cuerpo de la Guardia Civil just before 5pm UK time on Tuesday (January 7) saying they had located a body, BelfastLive reports.
Formal identification has yet to take place with Mr George's father taking to social media to inform those following the case that he will confirm if the body is that of John George, 37, as soon as he has been identified.
