'Bitter taste' - Ian Evatt's Bolton claim on Sheffield Wednesday & Sunderland away losses

Ian Evatt believes the early season losses Bolton Wanderers experienced at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland still leave an element of a 'bitter taste' but believes his side have come a long way since then and are better equipped for next season to handle big games on the road.

Wanderers travelled to the Stadium of Light in September and Hillsborough in October and came away with nothing following slender 1-0 losses in both matches.

In both matches, they perhaps deserved more and had decent openings but were unable to make the hosts pay on both occasions and they themselves paid the price. It came following the club's good recruitment in the January transfer window, with Marlon Fossey and James Trafford joining on loan from Fulham and Manchester City respectively.
