George Johnston feels Bolton Wanderers proved during the recently concluded season that they can compete with the top teams in League One even with injuries or not at their best and feels it is an exciting prospect.
Wanderers finished ninth in the third tier of English football this campaign with a total of 73 points, a fine achievement for a newly promoted side.
A total of 73 points would in most seasons be enough to have the Whites in and around the top six, but the high standards in League One this campaign meant that Bolton were 10 points behind sixth placed Wycombe Wanderers. The defender believes that was a big thing for him on a personal level and admits he struggled with the physicality of League One in the first half of the campaign, but has dealt with that aspect better as the season wore on.
